The images taken on 9/11 were shot using a Pentax MG 35mm SLR on manual. Exposure was made with a Sekonic L-508c light meter. My film of choice was Ilford Delta 3200 Professional Black & White negative film rated at ISO 3200. The presence of a still film camera in an electronic newsroom is enough of an attention getting anachronism so I opted to go with high speed film and no flash. This fast Ilford stock yields images with very high grain and exceptionally sharp contrast. As a fan of grain and contrasty images I'm happy with the results. Besides, color film does not hold up well at this film speed. I also believe the look suites the mood of the day.

The scans on this site do not do the film stock justice. There is greater detail in the actual prints. The test prints used for the scans were printed on color paper to save cost. Once I decide which ones, I'll have a set of three or four of my favorite printed on a high contrast matte Black & White paper.

The post 9/11 images at the airport were taken with Ilford XP2 Super rated at ISO 200.
